THE PUG REVIEW: EVEN WHITE TRASH ZOMBIES GET THE BLUES!
EVEN WHITTE TRASH ZOMBIES GET THE BLUES BY Diana Rowland-
WHITE TRASH ZOMBIE #2
Angel Crawford is
finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems
are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie
hunters are popping up, and she's beginning to wonder if her hunky
cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that's right--the zombie
mafia.
Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel's going to need all of her brainpower--and maybe a brain smoothie as well--in order to get through it without falling apart.

PUG REVIEW: DEAD IS THE NEW BLACK BY MARLENE PEREZ
DEAD IS THE NEW BLACK BY MARLENE PEREZ: DEAD IS 1#
Teenage girls are being mysteriously attacked all over town, including at Nightshade High School, where Daisy Giordano is a junior. When Daisy discovers that a vampire may be the culprit, she can’t help but suspect head cheerleader Samantha Devereaux, who returned from summer break with a new “look.” Samantha appears a little . . . well, dead, and all the most popular kids at school are copying her style.

KEYPOINTS: CLUE SOLVING, TEEN DEVELOPMENT, PSYCHIC POWERS
IN SHORT: A GOOD READ AND A GOOD START TO A NEW SERIES BUT CAN COME ACROSS A BIT PREDICTABLE.

GINNY'S ( THE PUG'S) REVIEW:
This book stood out
to me and my human because of it simple but beautifully designed cover art, we
picked up as soon as we were able. This is book one in the DEAD IS series.
MARLENE PEREZ is a
new author to me so I was looking forward to maybe find a new writer to follow,
even though this book didn’t knock me off my paws receiving only a 3 paw
rating, the writing style and world set up did intrigue me enough that I will
be getting my human to buy book two (Dead is a state of mind) when she is next
on Amazon.
The book appears to
be quite short, causing me and my human to finish this book in only one day,
the characters are a little flat but I can see plenty of potential to make
these charters more lifelike and 3D, although these characters are a little 2D
there is a fun flare to them that kept me reading to find out what happened.
This storyline focus on the chick lit mystery which is a little predictable but
fun none the less, although this is a mystery/ paranormal book there is little
explosive off the page action and more
character focus and clue solving.
Another thing that
intrigued me was the world building although this book focus more on the chick
lit mystery and the characters, we are given little hint that the world they
live in is not quite what they originally thought and I look forward to
discovering how the author brings this into play.
Even though this
isn’t the best book I have ever read, this book did perk my curiosity enough to
make me want to read the next one. This
book is what I call a marmite book; you will either love it or hate it, give it
a go and see if you enjoy the world and life Marlene Perez has laid out on
paper for you.
