I hope you find many new books to add to your bookshelf.
'I wasn't buying books I promise' |
Commencing the 22nd of Jan 2013
In this week news we have a great group of books coming out, starting with Kim Harrison's 11th Hollow book; Ever After.
BLURB:
The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels the human world, is shrinking. If it disappears completely, so does all magic. It's up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to avert catastrophe and keep life from changing... for the worse.
While saving the world is important, it isn't Rachel's only motivation. There's also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, setting off a chain reaction of unfortunate events. That little mistake has made her life forfeit unless she can fix it. It's also made her more than a few enemies, including the most powerful demon in the ever after—a terrifying entity who eats souls and now has an insatiable appetite for her. He's already kidnapped her friend and goddaughter to lure her out, and if Rachel doesn't give herself up soon, they'll die.
But Rachel has more than a few impressive and frightening skills of her own, and she isn't going to hand over her soul and her life without one hell of a fight. She's also got a surprise: elven tycoon Trent Kalamack. With this unlikely ally beside her—a prospect both thrilling and unnerving—she's going to return to the ever after, kick some demon butt, rescue her loved ones... and prevent an apocalypse before it's too late. Or, at least that's the plan..
The hollows is one of my favorite series with a goodread liking of 92% and over 47,238 reads, although I cant wait to get my paws on this book I still have a way to go as Pale Demon is still waiting to be read on my TBR pile.
This series is action packed and exciting with great characters that grow on you as you read further into their lives, if you haven't had chance to read this series I highly recommened you do.
OTHER BOOKS:
In other book news Cynthia Hand releases her third book in her unearthly series; Boundless. Published by Harper Collins Australia.
BLURB:
The past few years held more surprises than part-angel Clara Gardner ever could have anticipated. Yet through the dizzying high of first love to the agonizing low of losing someone close to her, the one thing she could no longer deny was that she was never meant to have a normal life.
Since discovering the special role she plays among the other angel-bloods, Clara has been determined to protect Tucker Avery from the evil that follows her . . . even if it means breaking both their hearts. Leaving town seemed like the best option, so she’s headed back to California—and so is Christian Prescott, the irresistible boy from the vision that started her on this journey in the first place.
As Clara makes her way in a world that is frighteningly new, she discovers that the fallen angel who attacked her is watching her every move. And he’s not the only one. . . . With the battle against the Black Wings looming, Clara knows she must finally fulfil her destiny. But it won’t come without sacrifices and betrayal.
Although I haven't read anything by Cynthia Hand I am intrigued by the story and I love the cover art chosen to represent these books. I can't wait to sample Cynthia Hand work, starting with Unearthly, which has a liking rate on goods of 95% and a overall read count of 81,792.
OTHER BOOKS:
Also coming out this week is Everbound second in the everneath series by Brodi Ashton.
BLURB:
Nikki Beckett could only watch as her boyfriend, Jack, sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the Tunnels of the Everneath for eternity — a debt that should’ve been hers. She’s living a borrowed life, and she doesn’t know what to do with the guilt. And every night Jack appears in her dreams, lost and confused and wasting away.
Desperate for answers, Nikki turns to Cole, the immortal bad boy who wants to make her his queen — and the one person least likely to help. But his heart has been touched by everything about Nikki, and he agrees to assist her in the only way he can: by taking her to the Everneath himself.
Nikki and Cole descend into the Everneath, only to discover that their journey will be more difficult than they’d anticipated — and more deadly. But Nikki vows to stop at nothing to save Jack — even if it means making an incredible sacrifice of her own.
In this enthralling sequel to Everneath, Brodi Ashton tests the bonds of destiny and explores the lengths we’ll go to for the ones we love
Everneath was published in January 24th 2012 by HarperCollins / Balzer + Brayand and lives on the romance, fantasy and young adult shelf with a liking rate of 32% and has been read over 13004 times.
