BLURB:
DEAD HEROES GET MONUMENTS. LIVE ONES GET TRIALS.
Sirantha Jax has the right genes—ones that enable her to “jump” faster-than-light ships through grimspace. But it’s also in her genetic makeup to go it alone. It’s a character trait that has gotten her into—and out of—hot water time and time again, but now she’s caused one of the most horrific events in military history…
During the war against murderous, flesh-eating aliens, Sirantha went AWOL and shifted grimspace beacons to keep the enemy from invading humanity’s homeworld. The cost of her actions: the destruction of modern interstellar travel—and the lives of six hundred Conglomerate soldiers.
Accused of dereliction of duty, desertion, mass murder, and high treason, Sirantha is on trial for her life. And only time will tell if she’s one of the Conglomerate’s greatest heroes—or most infamous criminals…

IN-SHORT: A great follow up to this series with a more grown up feel to the plot-line.
Abigail's (Ginny's owner) Review
Aftermath is a great follow up to Killbox with all the usual action but this time with more mature feeling to the story and charters as everything Sirantha has done comes to a head and she and everyone has to deal with the consequences.
Aftermath picks up actually where killbox left us, revealing to us what happened when Sirantha shoots off to the stars with Hit and changes the history of the solar system and fights off the dreaded flesh-eating aliens.
The story that Ann Aguirre chooses to tell us is just as action packed as her previous Jax's books but this one has a more complex emotional story rather than her previous heart stopping physical action based drama versions of Jax. This Jax's has become more responsible and mature giving the overall story a more mature feel to it.
The characters are just as loveable and we are taken on some surprising and shocking journeys with them, as bonds grow stronger and others fall away, I can't wait to find out what happens with certain characters. Ann Aguirre made me, laugh, cry and swear at all the right places with her well created characters.
This is a complex well written story with well defined characters that keep on surprising you, i cant wait to read Endgame, although i will be terribly sad to say goodbye to Jax and her team.
This book and series should be read by everyone.
