PUG REVIEW: HEXES AND HEMILINES JULIET BLACKWELL

HEXES AND HEMLINES- WITCHCRAFT MYSTERY #3- JULIET BLACKWELL
                                                                                                   BLURB:
Hexes and Hemlines (A Witchcraft Mystery, #3)With her vintage clothing store taking off, Lily Ivory is finding that life in San Francisco suits her just fine. But her ability to sense vibrations from the past, so useful in locating secondhand gems, has landed her in the middle of a new mystery...

Lily gets called away from Aunt Cora's Closet when the police need a witch's take on a strange case. Malachi Zazi was stabbed to death in his apartment, under a ladder, surrounded by the number thirteen, a broken mirror, and a black cat—superstitions that the victim, as head of a rationalist society, was devoted to discrediting.

When the police identify a suspect from the Serpentarian Society, Lily is shocked to learn it's someone she knows. But with bad luck plaguing all its members, she begins to wonder if there's more at work than mere coincidence. And while there aren't many clues from the crime scene, Lily finds evidence of dark witchcraft and a hex on her friend's doorstep. With her friend's safety at stake, Lily is determined to use magic to find the murderer before everyone's luck runs out...

Ginny The Book Reading Pug's Review:

Juliet Blackwell is a new author for me and my owner but i will defiantly be begging for more books from her after reading Hexes and Hemlines.

Although me and my owner stumbled into this book without reading the first and second i have to say this was a brilliant read and i wasn't left confused by past adventures in the main charters (Lilly's) life, as the book summarized perfectly allowing the readers a slight refresh without boring the readers or bogging down the story.

In this installment we follow Lilly as she is asked to consult on a very unusual murder that is surrounded by bad luck signs but no matter how much Lilly tries she struggles to find out what happened that fateful night and why the body was surrounded by a ladder, a broken mirror, a upside down horse shoe and a open umbrella, did fate really kill Malachi Zazi.

I really liked this mystery it was complex with many twists and turns but because of the cozy genre it wasn't to heavy a read. I also loved the characters that were presented to me especially Oscar, they were all fun to read about and all had great 3D personalities but still possess plenty of potential for growth and development.

This is  a great read, I would recommend this to anyone who loves a great mystery all wrapped up in magic.

OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES:
Secondhand Spirits (A Witchcraft Mystery, #1)A Cast-Off Coven (A Witchcraft Mystery, #2)In a Witch's Wardrobe

I hope you all enjoy the review, come back soon.
