GINNY'S ( THE PUG'S) REVIEW 

 

First all I want to say how me and my human love this cover, it’s misty, moody shades of grey combined with her striking red tops make this cover eye catching, along with the candles and the spooky background suits the book theme perfectly. 

This book was a very enjoyable read with a great cast of characters that I loved and hated for all the right reasons. The plot was well thought out and the mystery was full of twist and turns that it isn’t until the last chapter that everything falls into place, but just when you think everything right with the world another load of shocking and surprising questions and revelations are left with the reader, hopefully to be picked up in the next book. 

The world building is well constructed giving the reader plenty of detail on how this world works without bogging the reader down with detail, allowing me and my human to be able to picture it in our minds solidly. 

This a great read, I can’t wait to get my paws on Grave Dance, number two in Alex Craft novels. I recommend this book to anyone who loves ghosts, magic, murder and mystery.

GINNY'S (THE PUG'S) REVIEW

Tracking the tempest is the second book in the Jane True series, this story takes place four months after the first book; Tempest rising.

This book has action, love and friendship but it did take a while for me and my human to get into the story as I did feel it drag a little bit in the middle while the investigating part was being played out.  Although it took a while to get involved in the story there were some huge revelations and changes to the main character Jane and more insight given to the character Anyan, which is my pug self favourite. 

I look forward to finding out which way the author chooses to develop Jane further.

In content to the plot, I found the mystery to be heartfelt and interesting, I liked the way there was a big connection between the supposed villain and Jane’s nature. I also enjoy how just like in real life the characters don’t just throw off the death aspect presented in the book, but actually have different issues that develop due to it.  

This book was a good solid read with a great in-depth mystery and great movement/ development of characters; although I have to say I didn’t find the writing to be as funny as I had in the previous book which is a shame as this is what I loved about the style chosen to describe Jane’s story in the first place.
