PUG REVIEW: BETA BY RACHEL COHN

BETA (ANNEX #1) RACHEL COHN
                                                                        BLURB:
Beta (Annex, #1)Elysia is created in a laboratory, born as a sixteen-year-old girl, an empty vessel with no life experience to draw from. She is a Beta, an experimental model of a teenage clone. She was replicated from another teenage girl, who had to die in order for Elysia to exist.

Elysia's purpose is to serve the inhabitants of Demesne, an island paradise for the wealthiest people on earth. Everything about Demesne is bioengineered for perfection. Even the air induces a strange, euphoric high, which only the island's workers--soulless clones like Elysia--are immune to.

At first, Elysia's life is idyllic and pampered. But she soon sees that Demesne's human residents, who should want for nothing, yearn. But for what, exactly? She also comes to realize that beneath the island's flawless exterior, there is an under-current of discontent among Demesne's worker clones. She knows she is soulless and cannot feel and should not care--so why are overpowering sensations cloud-ing Elysia's mind?

PUG REVIEW: ALTERNITY BY MARI MANCUSI

ALTERNITY BY MARI MANCUSI
Alternity BLURB:
Imagine waking up in a post-apocalyptic, nightmare world--and being told your whole life is but a dream. Skye Brown thought she was your typical teen--good grades, hot boyfriend, and an after school job that pays her to play video games. But then she started having the dreams.

In her dreams, there is no Earth. Only Terra, a bleak, underground wasteland where people live in squalor and oppression. In her dreams, there is no Skye--only Mariah, a rebel leader fighting against a vile, dystopian regime. And then there's Dawn, a handsome, but haunted solider who sees her as but an empty shell of the girl he once love--a betrayer he vows to hate forever, despite what she sees deep in his eyes.

Now, ripped between Dark Siders and club kids, the mundane and the mystic, Skye finds herself in a fight against time--to learn who she really is, where she belongs..and why. The shocking truth will have her questioning her own reality...and her heart

GINNY'S ( PUG'S) REVIEW:

My human picked this up yesterday she was so excited she couldn't wait to start reading.
This book has been on my human want list since she read the blurb on goodreads and it didn't disappoint.

In the beginning of the book we are introduced to the main character America singer where we are slowly introduced to her life, her family and the world around her. Her world consists of a very interesting concept of people being labelled with a number and this number reflecting your status in the community along with the type of job you do and how much you get paid.

America we learn is a type Five meaning her, along with all her family are artist in one way or another, we quickly learn after the first two chapters that America is in love with someone she shouldn't be and the reader is quickly taken on highly emotional journey as America and her secret love try to make there forbidden relationship work.

Although the characters desperately try to make their relationship work the author has put the fates against them as the traditional way to marry the prince has been put into action and completely to the characters surprise and trepidation she is picked to take part in the big competition called the selection where the prince will find his wife.
For the rest of the book the reader is taken on an exciting and riveting journey as 35 girls including America fights to stay in the palace and in the prince's good books, I am sure that the readers just like me and my human will be shocked and excited by how the author ends the first book.

This book is a great read with a great journey and 3D characters that any reader will fall for, I and my human managed to finish this exciting new series within one day! I personally cannot wait to get my paws on book 2, this is a MUST READ FOR ANYONE.

I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED THE POST, GOOD NIGHT EVERYONE, SEE YOU SOON!
