PUG REVIEW: DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON BY SEANAN McGUIRE

DISCOUNT ARMAGEDDON BY SEANAN McGUIRE- INCRYPTID #1

Discount Armageddon (InCryptid, #1)

                                                      BLURB:
Ghoulies. Ghosties. Long-legged beasties. Things that go bump in the night... The Price family has spent generations studying the monsters of the world, working to protect them from humanity-and humanity from them. Enter Verity Price. Despite being trained from birth as a cryptozoologist, she'd rather dance a tango than tangle with a demon, and is spending a year in Manhattan while she pursues her career in professional ballroom dance. Sounds pretty simple, right? It would be, if it weren't for the talking mice, the telepathic mathematicians, the asbestos supermodels, and the trained monster-hunter sent by the Price family's old enemies, the Covenant of St. George. When a Price girl meets a Covenant boy, high stakes, high heels, and a lot of collateral damage are almost guaranteed. To complicate matters further, local cryptids are disappearing, strange lizard-men are appearing in the sewers, and someone's spreading rumors about a dragon sleeping underneath the city...

GINNY'S (THE PUG'S) REVIEW:
This book is a fun read and I’m so glad my owner picked this up so we could read it.

This book is about a young woman called Verity who belongs to the Price family who specialize in mystical creatures and their behavior. Although Verity also specializes in urban creatures she is stuck between what her family wants and her passion. This conflict between the two leads us on a very fast pace and exciting journey through Manhattan.

Although this plot line has a gritty underbelly the author does a great job of describing it without causing it to be too graphic.
i loved all the characters, they were very 3D and they all had something special, i especially liked Sara. My only issue was how fast verity forgave Dominic but others I can’t wait to hear more about all of them in the second book.

This is a fun book with an interesting plot-line and plenty of potential for further development of characters.

A great book for lovers of urban fantasy and crime.

I hope you all enjoy the review, happy reading :)
